Setting Up Your NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro #
- Connect your Shield to the internet via Ethernet (preferred connection method).
- Connect your Shield via HDMI to an AV Receiver (AVR).
- For a list of Auro-3D compatible devices, visit Auro-3D® Compatible Devices
- Plug another HDMI cable from your AVR’s HDMI OUT port to a TV or external monitor.
- Power On NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro.
- Login to your Shield account or create one if this is your first time using the Shield.
- Go to Settings -> Device Preferences -> About -> System Upgrade
- Click on “Check for Upgrade” to install any upgrades that may be available.
- Select “Auto-Upgrade” to ensure future upgrades are downloaded to your Shield.
- Go to Settings -> Device Preferences -> Energy saver
- Deselect “Allow turning screen off”
- Go to Settings -> Device Preferences -> Display & Sound -> Advanced sound settings
Pure Audio Streaming on NVIDIA SHIELD #
- We first recommend you download and launch Pure Audio Streaming application on your mobile device.
- Visit Apple Store/Google Play Store on your mobile device and search for “Pure Audio Streaming”
- Create user account if required or login using existing account
- Do not use Guest login
- Install the Pure Audio Streaming application on your Shield from Google Play Store.
- Launch Google Play Store and login / create account.
- Search and download Pure Audio Streaming.
- Launch the Pure Audio Streaming application on the NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro
- Scan the QR code or log in to Pure Audio Streaming on your mobile device
- Select the Pure Audio studio if more than one studio is displayed.
Using AC Connect and NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro #
AC Connect lets you stream Pure Audio Streaming directly to compatible home theater equipment over your local Wi-Fi network, eliminating the need for additional playback hardware. Find out more about supported devices and how AC Connect works here.
- Launch the Pure Audio Streaming App on iOS (Android coming soon).
- Select what content you’d like to listen to you.
- On upper right select the “Cast” icon
- Select “Artist_Connection”
Use Your NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro Settings to Customize Your Audio/Video Playback #
- On your Shield, go to Device Preferences->Sound & Display->Advanced Sound Settings and enable the following:
- Play comfort noise on HDMI
- Display Volume Control Warning
- If available under ‘Available Formats’, enable ‘Auto: Use the formats your audio device reports supporting (recommended)’
Verify AURO-3D on your AVR #
- Depending on your AVR, you may need to adjust your settings.
- For example, press “info” on the AVR remote to verify the input signal section is PCM/AURO-3D or DTS-HD/AURO-3D.
- If it doesn’t, please press the “music” button and select AURO-3D.
- The AVR will then recognize the correct AURO-3D format carried by the input signal.
