If you’re experiencing audio playback issues in Google Chrome while using a multi-channel audio interface on your Mac, you may need to adjust your audio output settings.
Follow these steps to create a Multi-Output Device using Audio MIDI Setup:
Open Audio MIDI Setup #
- Open Audio MIDI Setup on your Mac. You can find it using Spotlight Search or by going to Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup.
- Click the + button in the bottom-left corner.
- Select Create Multi-Output Device.
Configure Your Audio Output #
- In the list of available audio devices, check the box next to your primary audio interface.
- If needed, configure your audio interface to use a standard 2-channel stereo output.
Update Your Mac’s Sound Settings #
- Open System Settings > Sound.
- Under Output, select the newly created Multi-Output Device.
- Open Google Chrome and test your audio playback.
Your Mac should now route audio through the selected device.
Note: If you’re still experiencing playback issues, check your audio interface settings to make sure the correct output channels are selected.
